A Little Story About a Big Success

Back in 2006 I worked with the County of Mendocino to design the logo and marketing materials for Healthy Kids Mendocino. This arrived in my email today:

"In 2006, we launched the Healthy Kids Mendocino project with the goal to ensure every child in Mendocino County had access to quality affordable health insurance. Over the last decade, you have worked with us to reach this goal. Your advocacy contributed to new legislation and local community support that provides coverage for every child in our community. We are happy to announce that our goal has been met. We couldn't have done it without you!" – Lily Caravello, County of Mendocino

Astronomer Clifford Stoll (who helped to capture a notorious KGB hacker back in the infancy of the Internet) said in his TED Talk in 2006:

"...if you really want to know what the future's going to be, if you really want to know about the future, don't ask a technologist, a scientist, a physicist. No! Don't ask somebody who's writing code. No, if you want to know what society's going to be like in 20 years, ask a kindergarten teacher."

I love that statement. Kids are a big deal. The future is in their hands, so it's especially meaningful to me that this particular project was a success, and that I was able to be a part of it.

Are you ready to invest in your organization's future?  Get in touch—I’d love to chat!
